Match Report - Juniors 22th June 2019

Top of the table Busselton City took on Geographe Bay in blustery and damp conditions at Barnard Park. The tone of the game was established early on with Busselton on the front foot and Geographe getting numbers behind the ball. Early City attacks were repelled by the hard working Seasiders defence but after around 15 minutes, City's Matthew James was quick to react and score after good work from Taj Mackenzie. City were relentless in their attacks but credit must be given to Geographe's defence and keeper Aiden Rice who managed to keep the score at 1-0 to City at half time.

The second half was similar to the first, with Geographe trying to repel City's attacks while attempts by the Seasiders to get beyond half way were excellently managed by City's defence. City's full backs, Liam Hughes and Tyler Torrent were proving to be excellent outlets and initiated many of City's attacks. After a number of close efforts and shots that were well saved by Rice, City finally got a second when persistence from Patrick Sheehan saw the striker score. Shortly after, John Nguyen scored a third for City with a fine shot from a tight angle.

City continued to press and pin the Seasiders in their own half but they couldn't add to the score which finished 3-0 to the league leaders.
